Another glorious morning, blue skies with a few wispy clouds. No one in the shelter last night so Bob and I saw no other hikers yesterday. We were out again around 8:30. Our snack break about half way was at Lumber Campsite on the Jessup River. A few more ups and downs than we have seen but nothing really challenging.
Bob and I arrived at Fall Stream about noon. A hiker, Chris, was camping here with her dog. We picked out a couple of tent sites keeping in mind that there is a chance of rain tonight. Chris packed and left with her dog. After finishing setting up, Bob mentioned he has cell service so I lost him for the rest of the afternoon.
Bob and I saw some scat (poop) on the trail that we did not recognize. Bob described it to Chris and she said it is moose scat. So moose poop but no moose this trip.
I tried some more fishing with my tenkara setup, a super light weight fly fishing system. I caught a couple of sticks and lost two flies. I am not sure that I have the eyes and patience to take up fly fishing again.
Back to the tent to work on this update and read a little before my last freeze dried mea. Yum! Looking forward to a hamburger and a pizza almost as much as a hot shower.
Bob also had no luck with the trout. After dinner we built a fire using birch bark for fire starter. We let the fire burn down then turned in for our last night.
