Luzerne County Marriage Licenses from October 1885 through August 2004 can be found online through the Luzerne County website (www.luzernecounty.org). Marriage licenses are held by the Register of Wills. To access the records, follow these steps.
Select Departments.
Select Register of Wills.
Scroll down to Records Access and select “IQS Infodex/EFilm Reader”.

Click on “Search Records as Guest”.

Click on “Infodex”.
Click on the “1994-2004 Estates (A-K)” dropdown and scroll down to Marriage Volumes.
Select the volume you are interested in based on the date and enter the name you are searching.
Press “Search” and this will take you to the index.
The index is sorted by both groom’s and bride’s names. Older records are indexed by first letter of last name, you may have to page forward and backward to find the person you are searching. If you have difficulty reading the license number for one, try the other.
Record the Volume Number and the License Number and click on “Go To Document”. Enter the Volume Number for the Book and the License Number for the Page. Click on “Document”.
You will now see the page from the marriage license register. You may have to scroll down to find the specific record. You can zoom in and out but cannot print the record. It is easy enough to size the record to the window and screen capture or print.
Certified copies of the record can be ordered. Click here for Certified Marriage Request Form to submit by mail. Print and fill in form. Include form with your check/money order and return envelope..
