To any of Bob’s family or friends, Bob said to remind you that we are NOT having fun.
So the original plan was for today to be a zero day (no hiking) before another couple days of backpacking. The weather forecast did not cooperate. There is substantial rain in the forecast for late Sunday and Monday. Being fair weather hikers, Bob and I decided to make a change. First up was a visit to the Bowden fish hatchery. We saw golden rainbow trout by the thousands with the other trout.
Then we did a short out and back hike on a section of the nearby Allegheny Trail. The first mile and a half was meticulously maintained, the next half mile – not so much. The big plus was – No rocks!
Being late afternoon and our warmest day, a trip to Big Timber Brewing Company seemed appropriate. Bob and I enjoyed sampling several of the beers in a flight, Then it was time for some barbecue at Smoke on the Water. Pulled pork for me and a loaded sweet potato for Bob. Back to the cabin to pack up and get showers. Plan is to head home tomorrow and not hike in the rain.
